    I found what I was looking for.

    The word "AUTHENTIC" caught my attention. I was looking for a beacon that would direct me to an interface that would give access to the innards of the Baofeng Uv-5r radio. PC03 FTDI AUTHENTIC GENUINE .....Cable.... gave me an immediate and complete satisfaction. It works. IT WORKS. The Chirp application (Macintosh version) pokes into the radio. Easily.

    This is the right cable

    This is the correct cable you need in order to program your btech or Baofeng radio with CHIRP. Don't cheap out on this because the knockoff cables with cheap chipsets will not work. Spend the extra money and save yourself the hassle. This one works. I programmed a btech UV-5X and Baofeng UV-5R successfully with no issues at all on a Windows 10 laptop.

    Genuine cable. well worth the money, but to find the software if it dosent install by it selfe is a bit tricky to find. The website looks like a mess, crazy much technical information. They schould make a simpler and easie web page for the people who not need all the techno stuff about evrything. But, very good genuine product. Thanks!

    FTDI Programming Cable

    Don't buy a cheap cable that is not FTDI compliant. This one is and will save you the hours of frustration that a cheap one that sells for $7.59 will cause you. Even though it costs almost as much as the radio (Baofeng UV-5R) the bottom line is IT WORKS! I learned the hard way.

    Excellent cable!

    I used this cable to upload/download to my Pofung UV-82 handheld. Worked the first time with CHIRP. No messing with drivers....they loaded automatically in Windows 7. I'd buy this again.
