Synopsis
In this volume, Tim Chester updates a classic collection of devotional readings from Charles Spurgeon--one of the greatest preachers in church history--based on the promises of God., "God has given no pledge that he will not redeem and encouraged no hope that he will not fulfill." --Charles Spurgeon For over 150 years, Charles Spurgeon's classic daily devotional on God's promises has comforted the hearts of God's people. For each day of the year, Spurgeon reflects on a specific promise of God from Scripture that strengthened his heart in times of severe depression and suffering. Each daily meditation testifies to the goodness, faithfulness, and power of God. This earlier edition of the iconic in-depth discussion of 19th Century US stamps by Brookman is composed of two, clean, well depicted and well described volumes and represent an incredible value! Also the safe packaging was superb, and I believe I received them in two days, which I found remarkably fast . Highly recommended!

Excellent condition, was exactly as pictured. It was the photos of the inside, - of the contents, the prefaces and the introduction that drew me to buy this book. Seller did a wonderful job presenting the book. I probably would not have bought the book otherwise. Seller shipped promptly and packaged securely. The price was attractive, the appearance great. The overall quality is very satisfying.

I purchased the book primarily to have a succinct collection of Gods promises in a single source for quick reference and not for the associated devotional material. While I am far from completing the book, it meets the goal for which it was purchased. Some may like the devotional material although it has been "re-worded" from the original Charles Spurgeon writings. Still, it may provide sufficient inspiration to use when crafting sermons or other ministry-based literature. I've taken one star off because this version is not quoting from the King James translation.
