These are, as far as I know, the last generation of made-in-USA Penns. The one I fish, I've had for the better part of 40 years, fishing mostly salt water, and it's given me very little trouble in those years.
They're not as silky-smooth as the newer reels, but they'll still be around when the ones with 7 ball-bearings are in the can.
The reel sold was not a penn 4300 , it was a penn 430. It required a drag washer, not included and the drag know was cracked. No mention of this in the add. I did deal with it, built new drag knob and ordered a washer from another site. Reel is fine juts not exactly what I purchased.
