    whirlpool washer not spinning solved

    if your whirlpool brand washer has the problem of going thru rinse and spin cycle without actually spinning, this is what it needs to fix it. It's not a transmission or clutch problem, but a timer problem. To verify, while running if it will not spin (must start from beginning of wash cycle) open lid to stop machine, close lid and if it starts spinning it is the timer that is the problem. the timer is suppose to pause between draining and spinning to allow the transmission to shift, if it does not pause then it will not spin.

    don't buy used

    I tried a bunch of used timers. Again and again, they were bad timers. All having a different problem. Dig a bit deeper in your pocket and buy a new one. Don't waste your precious time with the used ones!

    Be careful

    We have an older Kenmore washer and the cycles are different so this is not a direct replacement. I used parts from this timer to repair my old timer, so it worked out OK.
