The tracks on The Definitive Collection beg the question of why The Marvelettes weren't a much larger attraction. Included are their six top 20 hits: "Please Mr. Postman" (#1), "Playboy" (#7), "Beechwood 4-5789" (#17), "Don't Mess With Bill" (#7), "The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game" (#13), and "My Baby Must Be a Magician" (#17)—and if that's not enough, many of the remainder hit the charts or certainly should have.
