Originally released on the Atari 400, Star Raiders for the VCS is a space combat game played from a first-person perspective. You'll engage an enemy known as the Krylons across different sectors of the galaxy. Use the included Video Touch Pad to access the galactic map and plot your course, noting the position of enemy ships, before warping to the region. While in battle, you can raise your shields to defend against oncoming attacks and fire twin photon torpedoes at the enemy. Each action you initiate, from entering hyperspace to firing weapons, depletes your ship's energy reserves, which can only be replenished by visiting a starbase in between battles. Your objectives in Star Raiders are to defend this starbase and to eliminate all of the Krylons on the map, at which point the game will continue with a new, more challenging mission.Product Identifiers

Difficult and not much depth, but fun for what it is!
Pretty much what I expected, though it's more difficult than I thought it would be. Definitely not an easy game. I like the idea and general gameplay, but it would be nice if there was an enemy base to destroy as well as the ships (and maybe destroying it would give you some benefit, like fewer ships to destroy).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
