A bolt-on neck joint on the Ibanez SR505 5-string bass guitar allows superb access to the upper frets of its five-piece jatoba/bubinga neck. Only 4/5 thick at the first fret, the 34 scale neck provides more comfortable playing than standard 5-string necks. Bartolini MK1 pickups and 3-band EQ deliver world-class tone, while the mahogany body provides naturally warm lows and sweet sustain. Rosewood fretboard offers a strong, bright sound and an attractive appearance with a long grain. Ultradurable Accu-Cast B25 bridge offers quick and easy string changes. Single-screw saddle height adjustment gives you better stability than standard double-screw designs.

    You will not find this level of quality and sound at this price in any other bass.

    I love this Bass, it is my second one. I have been playing on an SR505 for several years and this is the best feeling bass I have ever played. I wanted a backup bass and the best backup possible is having twins. The new SR505 has one extra feature in the model update that was not on the original SR505. This has a fast and slick neck that feels extremely natural to move around no. The active Bartolini pickups sound amazing on just about any amp form the 25w practice amp in the bedroom to the 300W stage amp. This set up allows you to accommodate almost any style, form a rock bass to a jazz and blues groove with just a few tweaks of the tone controls.     Nice Looking Axe

    I like the look of this guitar. Great feel as well. It's lightweight and easy to play. For an active pickup guitar, I thought the bass would sound better and have more drive than it has. I have a passive pickup Jazz bass with Seymour Duncans and it sounds a lot better and it has more punch. I favor the Jazz for sound.

    THE Best of Ibanez

    This does it all. Has tone to the bone, options out da wazoo, neck, weight, balance....PURFECT! The bartolini active pickups are such a far cut above the rest. One would think this bass should cost thousands just by the sound and feel. Ibanez really hit a home run with this one! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to try this one before you buy another one!!
