Not perfect but good enough
My beloved MP970 printer went south and I was not ready to give it up yet. It started printing green bands in black text and only printing 50% of Magenta (See bad original pic attached). I tried cleaning the printhead which did nothing so I saw this replacement and decided to give it a try. It was a gamble not knowing if it was the printhead or the printer (the ink carts were new). The replacement just arrived and I popped it in. I was happy to see that it fixed my original problem but it was not perfect. In the nozzle check pattern, I can see a very faint band in the center of the photo black pattern (See replacement pic attached -- the scan makes it seem faint but it's more visible on paper). I do not print many pictures any more and I am perfectly content to live with it as long as most of my black and color text documents remain unaffected. So I'll knock one star off as it's not perfect but most likely good enough. I am very happy to have my MP970 back online.

Printhead replacement for Canon MP970 from iSSCX - Excellent new lease of life for a great all-in-one.
After many years my trusty MP970 suddenly threw me a printhead error message. Don't do too much printing these days but the error also rendered the much used scanner inoperative. As Canon haven't produced replacements for some years I was rather apprehensive about sourcing a sample. However rather than source a completely new machine decided to take a chance. Discounted offerings from numerous outlets selling everything from sofas to software and eventually found iSSCX who appear to be more specialist in office products. The amount of relevant info on their listing was also encouraging. Sounded as if they knew what they were talking about. It came in a reasonable amount of time from China. The printhead was well packaged and in what appears to be its original unopened foil pouch. Fitted without problem and after a month of use all scanning and printing functions seem to work perfectly. Great quality equivalent to original factory printhead
At first I was reluctant to try a replacement printhead and was looking at a new printer. I took a chance and ordered it and it came in a reasonable amount of time, from China I believe. The printhead was in the original unopened factory foil cartridge so that was a relief. After installation not only did it work properly, it solved other problems that had been intermittent for some time. I am now back in business printing beautiful photos.
