SynopsisTo the general public, Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860-1939) is perhaps best known for his posters of Sarah Bernhardt and magnificent decorative panels such as "The Seasons" -- works that continue to grow in popularity and value as the resurgence of interest in Art Nouveau increases. In the Foreword by Gabriel Mourey, specially translated for this edition, Mucha's own philosophy of art, and the relation of the Documents to the rest of his work, receive an appreciative and informative discussion. The Review of The Art Nouveau Style Book of Alphonse Much
This is a splendid book for people who are smitten with the Art Nouveau era. It contains Mucha's work detailing women, the clothes they wore at the time, how their hair was styled and most important to me, it shows jewelry of the period and how it is worn. So much vintage and antique jewelry is underutilized simply because people have not seen it worn before. Often it will go unnoticed in pictures unless you are specifically looking for it.
