    Great gear puller!

    I bought this puller to help dismantle the undercarriage on a 1942 military half track. The bogie shafts have tapered ends and require a lot of pre-load force followed by some vigorous pounding on the side of the shaft boss with a large hammer and usually heat in order to get them apart from the tapered holes they live in, much like removing automotive tie-rod ends, only on a larger scale. This 13-ton puller is up to it. A couple of the shafts gave up just from the pushing force of the puller without having to use the hammer! And I didn't have to use heat on any of them, which is a plus. This is a very well-made American-manufactured tool and it sure saves a lot of time and work.
