    Good fallback for a few bucks.

    This flashlight mount is what it says it is - a QD, one-inch flashlight mount. It's made of aluminum, not polymer, so it's solid in that respect. My flashlight locks into it tight, so it's solid in that respect, too. Where I don't like it is how it locks up on a rail - it's sloppy. There's quite a bit of play in it once it's mounted. Less so on an actual metal rail like what's on top of a rifle, but as far as an M-LOK or Keymod polymer rail attachment? It just doesn't engage enough with the rail to remain steady and motion-free. For a home-defense gun or something you keep bedside or in the closet, it should be OK. But it's not really fit for use in the field. Trekking through the woods or something, I could see a tree branch coming along and knocking it right off the rail. So, to ...

    Surprising to say the least

    When I ordered this I was not expecting much considering it was NCStar. But I figured for $10, I could get something else if this didn't work out. I was surprised to find relatively nice machine work and a very positive locking QD mechanism. I now have this mounted on my home defense shotgun, via a Streamlight tube mag rail, and I trust the whole set up.
