Well theres alot of debate between a love and hate relationship of gamers when they played this game but im going to give a more general and foward review as i just gathering my thoughts about it. Now this game unlike its predeccesocer duke nukem 3d is a mixed between that and a modernize style of gameplay such as regenarating health, platforming, puzzle solving and vehicles. the game is quite linear as a run and gun of kill enemies and procced to the next area. but to keep things from such boredoom they added the modern style of other types of small task along the way such as i just explained. also theres a huge debate on how horrible the load times can be such as taking up to even a min. plus and when you die it has to load for about 20 to 30 secs until it can pick up where you where and it can be exhausting and annoying since at times its trial and error. also the modernize style of "only 2 weapons" lacks what it was when its preddecesor could carry a huge arsenal, pretty much just like other fps games it has that limitation of a limit capacity to carry weapons. if your a fan you might be very dissapointed that the world of duke nukem can sometimes be small such as no secret areas, hardly any exploration, no jetpack (except multiplayer) and becoming too linear at times. it does offer what the duke nukem experiance on his personality and style but it can be at times outdated when such jokes or sayings are poped up. still this game is enjoyable and its a good game, its not a great game, its not a horrible game just passable. in my opinion they could have done way better due to todays standards but one has to understand this game was delayed several times and due to constants engine changes they needed to start over and over and simply they just dint have the time to sit down and plan well enough for the game to shine. overall duke nukem forever is enjoyable to play but heres hoping the sequel would be better and that the developers would finally have the time to sit down and planned on what a real duken dukem game should be.Read full review
This game is dated....BAD. I'm not saying it doesn't bring back a sense of nostalgia or it's not playable but the lengthy load times while respawning or waiting for the next level to load will definitely have you playing on easy or wishing you did. Also, the fluidity of the game is kind of choppy at best and the lack of certain conditioned aspects such as multiple save data files can be a throw back to the days when Michael Jackson ruled the pop charts and not the cemetery (Don't get offended, he became the zombie king when he made Thriller, just think of him as being on world tour). Graphics are good, they are not as bad as people are insinuating, and the interactivity and fun factor are there, as long as you have a sailor's ears and mind like a horny 13 year old. There are certain pointless but interesting character choices in game and the mini games puzzles are a refreshing twist to the Modern Warfare and Halo addicts that scream for diversity but compare and uphold with a racist's will. I'm not going to lie a bit, 12 years of waiting for this game, if it were worked on day and night by the developers, would deserve a bitch slap to the face and a lot of finger pointing and laughs in a men's locker room but if you can pick this up for around 30$, you won't be disappointed wandering around your strip joint, smacking pigcops around and pissing the night away...Read full review
Wrapped up in this stomach-churning wrapper is a shooter trapped in time. Some enemy encounters are surprisingly modern and entertaining, while others seem like fossils from various bygone eras. Circle-strafing boss battles and minecart sections recall the mid- to late-nineties. Sections playing as a shrunken-Duke seem like they were ripped out of the early Unreal Tournament mod-scene. Simple physics-puzzles come straight out of 2005. Low-res textures, accompanied by pop-in, make the game look like an early Xbox 360 shooter. This contrast is actually rather interesting, and many sections of the game are quite enjoyable. However, it's impossible to isolate these sections from the game as a whole, and DNF is a game that revels in misogyny and its own sense of importance.Much was made of Duke' supposed irrelevance in the weeks leading up to DNF's release. The general sentiment amongst critics seemed to be that a game featuring a caricature of an action movie protagonist from twenty-years ago comes off as dated in the waning years of the Schwarzenegger administration. They were right. Modern players and viewers demand characters that are a bit more self-aware. There's still a place for base and over-the-top humor in games; Bulletstorm proved that earlier this year. DNF however, unlike Bulletstorm, seems completely unaware of its own stupidity. Surely the creators knew their game was crass, low-brow, and traded in sexist imagery. It's not obvious they knew just how monumentally moronic the game they created is. That's the key difference between the two titles: Bulletstorm is the funny guy at the party who has a bit too much to drink. DNF is the guy who gets plastered, runs around naked with a lampshade on his head and doesn't understand that everyone is laughing at him, not with him.Read full review
I’m so happy to have gotten this game. I use to play Duke on my computer a very long time ago and so I’m glad to have found this one. Thanks again.

Great game... About time they released a Duke Nukem game for PS3. Felt like I was 14yr old again playing this :) Graphics are awesome, characters are well developed, and story line is well laid too. Played on hardest setting but wasn't as hard as i expected (compared to hardest on other 1st person shooters). However, it has plenty of levels to make up for how fast you pass them. In fact, I blew through some 15+ levels and beat a huge/very hard boss (took some 25 tries) only to find I was only halfway through the game. I was actually disappointed for a min thinking i had beat the whole game in a few days only to be excited it wasn't over yet. Not a waste after all... Definitely a game to BUY not RENT!!
Despite some negative reviews for this game, I actually like it. I have been waiting for this game since PS2 came out. This game would be fun for all classic Duke fans. Along with more cocky punchlines and the greatness of PS3 graphics. The only cons I have to say are more personal; meaning I like 3rd person games alittle better, like they did "Time to Kill" for PS1. And I didn't like having to wait soo long for this release.
My husband likes the game, but I HATE IT!!! LOL! The graphics are very good. I don't like all the nudity and sexual content in the game. There are other things in the game that are really cool though, you can shoot basketball, play pinball/pool, drive remote control cars, drink from fountains and pee ( which I thought was really funny). The game does have alot of cussing, but I'd rather hear that than see the sexual things (lesbian content, naked girls, girls giving the character blow jobs....all not needed). But I didn't buy it for me to play, I bought it for my husband and he really likes it so that's all that matters! I would not recommend for young children or teens to play this game because it has ADULT content in it and its not suitable for young ages! The graphics are very detailed and pretty cool! Rating:50/50 (hated by one, liked by another).Read full review

The game itself has very nice graphics and playability. Is difficult on the hard levels but doesn't get frustrating. In some parts you get to drive vehicles or turrets or minigames like pool, pretty much like shadow warrior. The enviroment is very interactive. The story is cheesy, funny and innapropiate as you expect from a duke game (not for kids). In other words it's your average old school duke fps with enhanced graphics and some modern gameplay features here and there. Also if you have played and loved the original duke 3d in the 90s you'll have the added factor of nostalgia so it's worth getting it if your a duke fan.
For a game they've been working on for 12 years!! I expected more from it... The character movements are a little awkward like when he jumps, the sidestep, etc...Overall the graphics is sorta bad for the year 2011 although i have seen worse. but then again the fact that theyve been working on it for 12 f*cking years makes me think twice about buying the game. I just want to try it out to see for myself. You can always sell it when you dont like it anymore. In my opinion, You should just try it out yourself. Others might hate it but you might love the game! Dont listen to people like me talking sh*t about this game..You will never know until you try it yourself.
