Product Information

Clive Barker's feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a man and wife who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature--the man's half-brother, who is also the woman's former lover--hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S&M demons called the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him human sacrifices to complete his body... but the Cenobites won't be happy about this. One of the best horror films of the 1980s, HELLRAISER is based on Barker's novel THE HELLBOUND HEART and was followed by three sequels.

    This is the orginal Clive Barker's Hellraiser except remastered in tge better &superior THX version with much better picture,Sound,its Widescreen as well.Also has added bonuses of Widescreen presentatiin.Full-Frame Presenation.Audio commentary with writer/director Clive Barker&star Ashley Laurence.Moderated by Writer Pete Atkins.Freaturette:Resurrection.Theactrical Trailer.And Still Gallery.Its a great quality edition &at a very low price as well.It arived within 3 days of ordering.I totally recommend this DVD in this superior Format.If you love Classic Horror films &this has become one of those then by all means do not hesitate to purchasr this fine film.ENJOY WATCHING!!!

    One Of The Best Horror Movies Ever!

    Hellraiser is one of the best horror film series ever. This one, the first in a series of eight, sets the whole feel for the entire series. From the very first minutes of this movie the audience is sure to be hooked. It has a great contrst of simple frame shots to more complex shots when the puzzle box is opened. One minute will be a calm shot of a house or a city then it will turn a complete 160 to very dark and bloody shots. The movie in itself is in the middle of gory, it's not full of blood in every shot but when there is blood there is a perfect amount of it. However I would not recomend watching it if you are squeamish. The character of Pinhead, or as he is refered to in this movie the "Lead Cenabite", is a very mysterious character.     THE ORIGINAL HELLRAISER

    My brother told me about the Hellraiser movies back in the late 80's early 90's so I rented the first couple and totally enjoyed the exagerated blood flow and make-up. These days, computers do most of the special effects but this movie was the work of very talented make-up artists, actors & writers. How can people think up the strange creature designs in the movie and the bizarre story? Sheer genius, I guess. Clive Barker probably never thought the "Hellraiser" movies would be as popular as they are. This is a Classic! TC

    Top of the line DVD for horror fans

    It doesn't get much better than "Hellraiser" when people talk about good horror movies. The storyline would be enough to hold the interest of most people; but "Hellraiser" is punctuated with enough blood and gore to satisfy those who aren't squemish. I had to have at least one Clive Barker film and I had done business with this particular seller already. As with the previous DVD, I was very impressed with the excellent quality of "Hellraiser!" I can find no fault whatsoever with this DVD, and the seller is highly recommended!

    Oh the hooks!! The hooks!!!

    This movie is so frightening!!! I still cannot watch this movie by myself. It is a typical horror movie but so much more!! The box scared me to death that any square puzzle box I still stay away from! This movie is absolutely NOT for children, they will have nightmares and it's bloody, violent, and has some rough language. My final comment... I still can't watch the scene with the hooks.... ewwwww. It is a worthwhile movie to see. Excellent.
