3 Behringer Echo Machines Dead in 6 months

These are the most cheaply made pedals ever, and are not worth the bother. Almost every piece of Behringer gear I've ever owned(mixers, pedals, processors, mics, amps) has failed. I'm a professional musician(non-touring, non gigging) working in a private studio. Non of my gear is ever abused or taken out of the studio... unless it leaves in a garbage can. Just say no to Behringer!!!!!!!!

  • Great Pedal for the Price!

For the money, this pedal can't be beat - low noise, excellent sound, more options than most would ever need, plus dual inputs and outputs. It will take some time playing with the knobs to find out everything it's capable of doing. In my particular application, I've found it works better in the effects loop rather than between the guitar and amp. I mainly use it for a slap back delay to thicken my sound. I'm not really into wild echo effects, but it will do them. In fact, this thing will do way more than I will ever ask of it. I probably could have gotten away with a simple digital delay, but for the price, I figured what the hell... I bought it to replace my mid 80's DOD Digital Delay and so far I'm pleased. I'd say the sound is as good or better than the old DOD, plus more ...

  • good for a beginner to mid level player

I like to experiment with and try out lots of effects pedals, and delay lines are always fun - so I thought I'd give the Echo Machine a try. For approximately $40 it's not a bad unit. Has a decent amount of head room, so you don't have to worry too much about overloading the circuit. The sound quality of the effect is fine, and completely useable, though not great or pro level. Not that you would expect it to be, considering the price. The modulation options are nice to have, although, like many other such pieces, a little goes a long way, and most of the modulation range isn't very musical. The tiny knobs are tricky to use. The main delay type knob doesn't have indentations so you have to watch for a quick flash of the light to indicate that you've switched modes. Tap tempo is always a ...

  • GREAT EFFECT ON A BUDGET.

I'm a fan of this series of Behringer effects pedals because they are affordable for anyone on a budget who would would like to try out a certain type of effect and expieriment with it but not want to invest several hundered dollars in a pedal that they won't use that much or may not like. They are made of heavy plastic and not metal, but still seem pretty durable. The sound quality is good, I have not noticed any muddy sound or tone drop to speak of. Overall my opinon is that this is a great entry level pedal but if you are a pro move along, these are not the droids you are looking for!
