Andy is forced to face his deepest fears after his dog, and best pal, Whisky, goes missing. The last Andy saw of Whisky was at the local park during the solar eclipse. The pup was swept away by an unknown creature and Andy immediately jumps into his homemade spaceship to go to Whisky's rescue. Andy is catapulted into Darkland, which is ruled by the Master of Darkness, and the adventures begin. Andy's character has the ability to jump, climb, run, swim, and swing himself to new areas. Magic powers and allies are gained along the journey, but evil doers are also in his path. Andy needs to overcome his enemies as he advances through eight worlds and 176 different locations. Heart of Darkness contains cinematic scenes and a soundtrack by the London Symphony.

A classic!
Got to replay this from my teenage years. It’s still good after all these years! A must have for anyone who played the original PlayStation. It’s a one of a kind action adventure game.

Satisfaction level is high if you can do it.
This game can try your patience. If you are good at playing older Mario games, then you will have more than half chance to beat this game. I found it very hard to say the least. In some levels especially toward the end, I would try a level for a couple of hours and when I would advance, I would quit, and try some weeks later when I mentally wasn’t spent. I could not forget about it; every time I beat a level I would think “maybe I could do the next one.” I could not beat the boss at the end and had to be satisfied with that. Almost at the end of the game, I found a cheat, it is the first time I have used cheating and it helped me mentally to keep trying, and to see the ending. I wouldn’t use this until you really, really need it, because it would ruin the satisfaction level for you. To ... This game can try your patience. You can save and keep your progress after using this. For all the frustration I had, I still can say I had a great time playing it.

Talk about Nostalgia. This game is awesome. For those of you who like Out of This World, Flashback, or the original Prince of Persia; check this out. It's all about exploration. There's only one or two ways to get to where you're going, but finding out how to do it gives a very open ended feel to the game. It's a heart-felt game (minus the alcoholic reference, and the boys love for it...odd) with a great adventure feel to it, and a ton of redeeming qualities for the main character at the end. The only drawback really is the frustration factor. This game is pretty tough. You'll probably have to go to a screen (after you died) two or three times before you finally figure out how to get across. I definitely recommend this game, but use your own discretion as far as ... Heart of Darkness is a side-scrolling action game for the Playstation One game system, pitting a school-age boy against shadowy figures in order to rescue his kidnapped dog from a mysterious and alien environment. For a PS-1 game, this one pushes the envelope of graphics and story-line by grabbing your attention with a cartoon style to experience and a simple goal to achieve. (When I say "simple goal", I don't mean it's an easy game to play; I mean that it's easy to understand what it is that you are supposed to do, in order to finish the game story.) HOD is not an effortless game to play, so if you become frustrated easily with repetition and having to overcome a "learning curve" in order to complete the puzzles and action sequences involved, then it may be better to play another ... good game very challenging
I love the game in the sense of that its like a puzzle, action, and platform game..the controls are easy to grasp and the 3D glasses just make for added fun! overall awsome game and keeps you using your head. The only drawback is there is no life like in Oddworld... so keep on your toes and do what you need to do to get past the crazy and awsome creatures in Heart of Darkness.
