My old dashboard was all cracked up on the top so naturally it just broke up upon removal and the repair shop asked me to find a new one. I was really skeptical of buying one site unseen but GM no longer manufactures this part so I had no choice but when I opened the box I was amazed!!! The 21 year old part looked like a new one.
