"Tears of A Tiger " Review.
“Tears of a Tiger” is an outstanding story simply because it takes you through a journey of a real life situation. This book is a prime example of how death can occur within a blink of an eye. If you were to start reading this book, you would get caught up in a whirlwind of the pain, misery, and tears this book would bring. The after affects of this book are like no other and even though it is fictional, it seems so real and true. This book is part of the 3 fictional Hazelwood High trilogies and doesn’t have a clear setting, but I know it takes place around the Hazelwood High School. This book starts off as 4 basketball teammates, (Robert Washington, Andrew Jackson, Tyrone Mills, and B.J. Carson), taking a ride into the night, which seemed like a night of fun, but ended up being a night of ... “Tears of a Tiger” is an outstanding story simply because it takes you through a journey of a real life situation. One night these basketball teammates won one of their games and wanted to celebrate by having alcoholic drinks and driving out into the night. After only a few minutes of drinking and driving, the car that was driven by Andrew Jackson crashed and took the life of Robert Washington, one of Hazelwood’s High star basketball players. All during the story you could feel Andrew’s pain and misery because he was the person driving the car that killed his best friend, Robert Washington. As the story begins to end, you see how powerful guilt and depression will become because when you think things couldn’t get any worse, they did. During the final climax of the story, Andrew Jackson committed suicide, and was found dead by his mother and younger brother due to a gunshot wound to his head. I believe every teenager and/or adult should read this book for the simple fact that it could teach you two very valuable lessons. One lesson I think this book can teach you involves drinking and driving. People who may often drink and drive may never stop to think what they are doing, but I believe this book could defiantly make them second guess their actions. Another important lesson in this story involves suicide. Even though a person may feel like they aren’t wanted and they can never get through their problem, someone will always care about them and they can always find help somewhere. This concludes my review on this book and I want to say to everyone that drinks and drive, and or/ thinks about committing suicide, please stop and think about what you are doing and always remember that every action has a consequence.
