    Sublime

    Tito is a favorite opera of mine, but I haven't listened to any of my dozen-or-so recordings in awhile. It's a great pleasure to report that I'm loving everything about this version. I hear a few blips in Villazon's technique, but the beautiful sound of his voice, coupled with his dramatic acuity, more than makes up for any imperfections. DiDonato is sublime, Rebeka is ideal, and for me there isn't a weak link in the cast. The orchestra sounds delicious and Nezet-Seguin's conducting is fresh and energetic. Without any comparisons needed to other favorite recordings of this opera (which I will certainly return to when I want to savor their delights), I highly recommend this one!
