    Excellent training book for serious K-9 owners interested in search and rescue

    This book is another great training book that holds the readers interest from cover to cover and teaches techniques I for one am interested in taking my best friend through. Captivating with special regard to Search and Rescue history and techniques. I fully recommend it.

    Excellent dog training resource.

    I read this book front to back and found it interesting and informative. I never knew all the different techiques used to train a SAR dog. The book is easy to read and understand. It is well organized for quick reference to problems and questions. I would recommend this books to anyone who wants to tain their dog, even if it isn't sor search and rescue purposes. Many of the techniques are appliquable to regular domestic dogs. Two thumbs up.

    Search and rescue dogs training the K-9 Hero

    I am currently training a black lab for K-9 search and rescue and so far this book has helped me plan out what to do in training him. This book taught me that the first step in training is the obedience training as well as bonding with the dog. Although this book is written by a different association then the one I am involved with, the book was still very helpful. This book also offers information on how to respond to a search and how to conduct a search.

    K-9 Search & Rescue Training

    Although I have only "speed read" this book, it has all of the information needed to train a dog. The completeness surprised me! If you have an interest in this type of work (in my case volunteer), this is perfect. Check your local governmant (police, fire, county, state etc.) for the CERT program. Citizens working with officials when called on can make ALL the difference!

    You Can't go wrong

    This book is an easy read and can work for any dog. It works for house dogs as well as working dogs.The details and pictures have proven invaluable in the getting started phase of my 14 week old Belgian Malinois.
