Signed by Erik Larsen at this past NYCC, then professionally graded by CGC 9.8 w/ perfect WHITE pages, this is the Image Comics reprint of Graphic Fantasy #1 -- originally released in 1982 as a "fanzine" with just several hundred created, making this a reprint that is "truly needed" given that hardly anybody can actually own the original! Interestingly CGC labeled this copy in error w/o "reprint." In the 51st edition of the Overstreet Price Guide they included a listing for this Image Comics printing, but, they continued to purposefully omit the original 1982 fanzine (I guess Overstreet doesn't recognize fanzines?!?) and continued to remark in the guide that Megaton #2 & 3 (1985, 1986) were the 1st cameo/full appearances of Savage Dragon. CGC takes a different view: they first certified the elusive 1982 Graphic Fantasy #1 around 2009/2010 and began to recognize it as the "1st appearance of The Dragon" (moving "1st appearance of SAVAGE Dragon" to Limited Series #1 1992).”
