vintage portrait lens for film camera

I purchased this lens for portrait photos from my vintage Pentax K-1000. I am well pleased with the condition of the lens and the quality of the prints made using this lens.

  • Pentax-Takumar, good lenses

Pentax is the only brand that gives value to all range of lens ever made by factory. I really love this, cause I can test and use lens from other industrial conception! Strong materials, real cristal lenses, manual focus average working in new digital photography world. For me it's priceless... This lens shows excellent "bouque", smooth focus and in a APC-S DSLR Pentax cameras, 135mm becames around 200mm. Marvelous portraits can be made with this lens!

  • Excellent results for the committed. Wonderful glass, amazing build.

Marvelous fun can be had if you're willing to deal with the idiosyncrasies of a manual focus prime from the past. The bokeh is really nice and dreamy, and the lens can be quite sharp. I enjoyed this lens very much and gave it to a friend as I purchased the SMC version from B&H, which has a bit less green/purple fringing increased sharpness due to the coatings. However, this is a great piece of equipment. Highly recommended.

  • Sharp, fast lens

I have used this lens during a photo safari trip in Tanzania. This is one of the best manual prime lenses with a Pentax bayonet mount. The lens is sharp and fast. I have gotten good photos of wildlife even with a 2x teleconverter in low-light conditions. Since the lens does not have optical coating it tends to be more vulnerable to reflections and refractions. A filter or hood could easily solve the problem. I have noticed that some interesting color effects could be obtained with this lens in cloudy or low-light conditions that I have not seen using coated lenses.

  • Decent lens arrived as advertised.

Received as advertised, good decent lens.
