    Genuine HP ink is the best you can use.

    Nothing like having genuine HP ink but to be honest, it is quite expensive, over $50 for black and color and that isn't even the XL. As far as crispness in printing letters and photos, it is excellent. I mainly print in draft using only black ink to save my ink. Highly recommend it but I don't think it's a good value.

    read descriptions carefully.

    I learned by this purchase to read all the way to the BOTTOM of all postings. What I failed to notice in the description of this product is that while the ink package was un-opened, it had expired in 2007 (4 years ago!) Had this info been WITH THE REST of the description, I would not have taken the chance. I am using the cartridge because it is the only one I have, but the only color it prints is muddy brown! I was attracted by the price, the fact it was new, nice picture .... what can I say? I have been purchased over 100 items on Ebay, and this is only the 2nd time I felt duped. You just have to keep in mind buyer beware, and ask questions if there is any doubt in your mind. Thanks for the forum.LB

    black ink worked, color did not. I know the product had expired going in. as this is for an old printer.

    One of the color carts was dried up. Could not wake it up with different hacks. Others were old but worked.

    Be careful buying ink for HP printers.

    Be careful buying ink for HP printers. If the cartridge has been refilled your printer may detect this and reject usage. Normally, original HP product works just fine, and maybe only certain models of printer balk at refilled carts. Just the same, I recommend sticking to the OEM product in original unopened HP packaging. I'm less concerned about date code, especially since the 45 + 78 package is getting scarce.
