About this product

Product Information

Himitsu Kessha founded the Toshinden--held annually, these tournaments feature strong combatants from all around the world. After the established corporation found out a nonsanctioned tournament was held by Gaia, they began organizing another Toshinden; their motivations are to lure the rebel to the tournament and have him slain for his insolence.<br><br>Thus is the premise behind Battle Arena Toshinden 2, the sequel to the PlayStation's first rotational, 360-degree 3D fighting game. Featuring characters from the original, there are eleven fighters in all, including Eiji Shinjo, Kayin Amoh, Tracy, Chaos, and Duke B. Rambert; characters feature their own arenas, moves, combinations, weapons, and special attacks. Additionally, there is a mysterious bonus character waiting to be unlocked and two bosses to fight.<br><br>There are a few game play options including the one player, full battle, and versus modes. Whereas the one player mode will have you battling against eight computer-controlled opponents, the full battle option throws you into a heated tournament of 10 characters--not including the bosses. The versus mode is selectable at any time, as long as you have access to a secondary controller; here you'll fight against a human opponent.<br><br>Battle Arena Toshinden 2 also features upper and lower body defense methods, eight levels of difficulty, and camera angles including normal, long, sky, and overhead. Will you overcome the Himitsu Kessha's brutal fighters or die trying?

    Last Toshinden with Arena to fall off

    The fighting game with a 3D arena to move around in looks and plays better than the first. Mortal Combat and others are just left and right in a screen sized scene, that's why this series stands out. Don't need blood + gore, just easy to control fighters that can push opponents off the edge to death, or fall yourself with excellent graphics when you or they do fall off. BAT 3 put you in a room, so these 2 are the better games.

    BATTLE ARENA TOSHINDEN 2 FOR PLAYSTATION

    The first Battle Arena Toshinden broke new ground when it made it's debut on the Playstation. With it's Tekkenesque style of fighters and it's use of special moves borrowed from the Street Fighter franchise, BAT added one more element that made this fighting game a little more unique...the side-step. Now, all those great elements you loved in the 1st installment are back in Battle Arena Tohsinden 2! All the familiar characters are back, upgraded and ready to fight! With improved graphics and new storylines BAT2 delivers the impact of the 1st game with much more. The addition of new hidden characters makes for a great bonus. If you love the first game, you should definitely give BAT2 a try, it will not disappoint.

    Battle Arena Toshinden 2 (Playstation) is a classic.

    The main reason why bought this game was to complete my Battle Arena Toshinden collection, I had the first and third game, but I missed the second so I did some research on Ebay and found it and bought it. I still need the fourth and final installment but unfortunately it was never released in the USA, so I am still not sure if I will ever buy it.
