About this product

Product Information

Speed up your laptop by replacing its slow, clunky hard drive with the OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120G SSD. This is a solid-state drive with a storage capacity of 120GB. The OCZ Agility 3 SSD has no spinning parts and runs quietly. It also runs cool and with efficiency. One of the major advantages of an SSD like the Agility 3 is its fast speed. This OCZ 120GB SSD uses a SATA 3 interface and hits read speeds as high as 525 MB/s and write speeds up to 500 MBps. With a form factor of 2.5 inches, the storage drive can fit into any laptop with a SATA II or SATA 3 interface. The shock-resistant SSD only consumes 2.7 watts at peak performance and has a long lifespan of 2 million hours. Those low-power consumption figures mean this SSD will allow your battery to stay charged longer. If you've been considering a dual-boot installation, then this OCZ SSD volume is an excellent choice. Even if you partitioned it in half, then you'd still have nearly 60GB for each OS you've installed. You can confidently install a beefy OS like Windows 7 on one of the partitions. This is a great way to split up your gaming software from the computer programs you use for work.Should you need an even bigger disk, you could buy several of Agility 3 flash volumes. Two OCZ SSD volumes would add up to 240GB. Add two more to that for a whopping 480GB of storage. You'll have ample flash memory with that kind of Agility III installation. Trion volumes support everything Windows has to offer, which includes file system encryption and compression. Excellent support for the NVMe MLC standard means the internal microchips will hold up under heavy use.If you want to install your new NAND HDD in Toshiba or Samsung equipment, then all you have to do is check the controller and see if it can recognize it. Toshiba manuals provide some information on the largest drives they can accept. The same goes for any game system or even Apple machines. It doesn't even matter if it's powered by Toshiba, Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA technology. As long as your machine can accept an internal OCZ SSD of this size, it should recognize it. It should give you full 6 Gbps performance on any type of device. Continue to look at those IOPS numbers as you use your new drive. They should be remarkably high. Dell and ASUS series firmware are more than likely covered as well.Engineers from OCZ Technology have tested every Vertex volume to make sure they outperform existing PCIE and Sandforce mount-points. Each OCZ Trion device is backward compatible, so it should also work with the older standards. If you have a Gen 2.0-capable CPU, then it should recognize an OCZ solid-state Vertex Agility device as well. Just make sure the bay matches the 6.35-centimeter form factor. Install a new Trion Vertex RD400 volume when you update your machine and experience a huge boost in speed no matter what you're working with.

This OCZ SSD is not the what it should Be

I was so happy to be able to finally get a SSD for my computer. But, I am disappointed in the performance In the real world, this SSD only reads a little under 200 and writes a lot slow than that. It is no where near the advertised speed. I benchmarked it doing everything I could to optimize it and the benchmark says It is the slowest of SSD's. Not just this one, but all of the OCZ's that has been tested on the benchmark site have came back as slow, for a SSD. What a disappointment. My computer is faster and noticeably so. But, how much faster would it be, if it was benchmarking at the speeds that was advertised it could do. Almost, all other SSD brands perform better than this one. Several of the other brands actually do read and write at the advertised speed of 500+. It works great ...

  • I Like it and i hope that it last a long while.

I don't see how it's faster than a raid configure But it does what it's supposed to do . Below are the finer qualities that i do like about the OCZ Agility 3 120 GB,Internal,2.5" (AGT3-25SAT3-120G) (SSD) Solid State Drive OCZ Agility 3 SATA III Solid State Drives are designed and built to provide an exceptional balance of performance and value. The Agility 3 Series implements the cutting-edge SATA 6Gbps interface to deliver excellent sequential and random data transfer rates, significantly improving your computing experience over hard drives. In addition to enhanced performance, an Agility 3 upgrade promotes cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives. With no moving parts, SSDs provide peace of mind with their superior durability ...

  • Since 3 of 3 fails, no idea of speed, etc. Avoid this item!

This thing is useless. The first one did not work at all. BIOS on two machines would not see it, could not format or use. I tried as SATA and on USB dongle. I RMA'd it. Second one was seen occasionally by BIOS and would finish Quick Format but would not accept data. It failed Complete Format so badly that it killed Explorer and I had to force the machine to power off while running. Now that's bad news! I RMA'd it again. Waiting to hear what is next. I have little hope of ever having a working unit. 2 for 2 bad. That's a very horrible track record! So I sent the second one back. The third one arrived quickly. I put it into operation. It lasted 3 days. I give up. I lost my $100 although I tried three times to obtain a working device without success. Shame on you, ...

  • How to change netbook experience with this upgrade

I buyed this drive to replace my magnetic 250GB hdd. I use Linux as O.S. In my netbook (Asus 1215P) hard disk replacment was difficult, because Asus don't make a door in case for this operation, and I have to disassemble case, very difficult operation due to plastic hangs fragility. However, I mounted this drive and at least I can work without noise of magnetic hard dirive, that seems have to break in any time. I'm very satisfied with this drive: I'm using with my SATA2 interface, so isn't so fast as it could is, but affidability of SSD vs Magnetic HDD is, in my opinion, much much better.

  • I love this drive.

This is the fastest SSD drive in the market. I clocked it's performance at 111MB/s reads. It does reserve a partition of about 100mb in the drive for its internal operation. The drive also saves a lot of power. Another advantage, it isn't susceptible to failure because of a drop; like regular hhds do. It has smaller capacity than mainstream drives. With a separate controller card you can place 2 or 3 of this to create a RAID 0 stripped drive; the speed of the drive. This drive has lowered the boot time of my computer by 75%, dollar for dollar it is the best upgrade you can make to a laptop or desktop.
