I was always fascinated by Lionel’s operating cars and accessories and when I saw this one I knew that I had to have it. By the way, the seller was awesome.     Yes

    Everything is contained in one unit. no two piece transformers. Also has a bell function besides the whistle. Smoke units seem to fire up with less voltage. The watts rating is new watts, not 70 plus year old watts. nice

    This is a great transformer that is update to date on new technology, but also will still run older postwar trains in conventional mode!!

    Somewhat underpowered

    80 watts Is a little underpowered. It doesn’t work very well to support accessories. I’m still trying to understand why. Whistle and bell buttons along with track power support the train.
