I tried to bend the ends in because I wanted a drop feature and could not despite use of a heavy bench vise and 3/4" conduit former with a 4' handle. These puppies are tough! Instead, I cut 1 1/2 inch sections off the ends using a large tubing cutter, gloves and about 10 minutes of hard cranking for each cut. This metal is REALLY tough! Clamped on my MTB, there is a little "spring" to the bar so I don't know if it would be reliable for down hill work but it is considerably thicker than the Ergo Moon Bar that it replaced. The Ergo bar was rated as a 4. For road and off road work, this Sunlight bar is at least a 6 but it IS a cruiser bar and should not be misconstrued as being suitable for heavy mountain biking. This caveat is simply because the design of a cruiser bar greatly multiplies the rotational leverage placed upon the clamping axis. The physics should be obvious. If you don't race your mountain bike, and want the more comfortable, upright riding position that cruiser bars afford, this is the bar for you. Be advised however, that the bar is long and wide and you may have to trim it. If you do, be prepared for some effort.Read full review

The Sunlite handle bar is great - it's long enough for good adjustment, even if you have to cut it shorter it gives lots of room for finding the right length.
