Arriving on the scene in 1997, this 3-D game features 23 fighters who each come equipped with their own attack and fight combinations, allowing for constant action. Seven gameplay modes offer variety for gamers, from the 'Arcade' mode that offers single-player action through a number of fights to the 'Versus' mode, which provides head-to-head action with another player. The game even offers a 'Watch' mode, which offers players the chance to view the fighting through a cinematic lens.

    First time playing this game but its good

    I played many Street Fighter 2 games and this is the first one I played on Playstation thats in 3D. Street Fighter 4 dont count since I played it on PC but this game is the first I have seen in 32 bits that runs well as Tekken and it reminds me of Street Fighter Alpha with the super moves. Its a great game overall and I recommend it.

    Best throwback ever.

    I love this game. Take me back to the time of real Street Fighter. I can't believe how old the graphics look, it's a reminder of where we came from. The gameplay is still better then today. Shipping time was a little slow but the gameplay makes more than makes up for it.

    best street fighter game ever

    I love this game. I have been playing SF since the first one came out xxxx years ago. I like all the other SF games, but this one is special because its 3D animation. You get most of the well-known characters plus some new ones, you get the same control response that helped you kick ass in other versions, and you get a deeper game that features unlockable characters, harder challenges, and more. Note: a lot of people criticize this game for its poor 3D animation, boring music, and lame endings, but who that has ever played SF games before would care for these aspects of the game? While these aspects, if improved, would make this a better gaming experience, we all know SF is about kicking ass, and this one does.

    A true classic

    This game is a classic, if you're a SF fan you should own it, especially given its low price point. It is notable for its advanced training, a must for people new to fighting games. It works great on a ps2 with a ps1 digital pad hacked into an arcade stick, however it WILL NOT work with on a ps3 with the same digital pad hacked into the arcade stick. The bottom line is that this is a must have.
