Poorly Engineered
This microwave oven is less than what I expected. My number one negative is the timer light which also shows the time. As near as I can tell, there is no way to turn the TIME light off and it lights up like a 100-watt light bulb. It lights my whole kitchen up. I corrected this by getting a cardboard with a magnet attached and cut it such that it covers that big light. Now, obviously I do not like having to remove my light cover every time I use the oven but… Now, the next most negative is, I don’t see any control that allows me to simply press it and the oven starts. For every time I, apparently, must set the time and it it’s only minutes I must also set two zeros for seconds and I see no way to get around that. Three, is the switch to open the door. Four, not enough contrast with the writing. I never appreciated, with my old oven, how easy it was to read all of the writing until getting this one. I think it’s a combination of contrast and the position or location of the information but… I have to turn an extra light on whenever I use it and the hundred-watt TIME light is not designed to aid in seeing this information. Please not the I purchased this oven to heat my food and occasionally cook things and it appear to do an excellent job of that. This oven was a good price, a really good price and so I’ve decided that, as should be expected, you get what you pay for and when I go shopping, I will be looking for a microwave oven with all of the functionality that I want and expect and I’ll just take the loss on this one and think of it as the cost for learning what I should have already known. Please not that this is not to express any anger regarding eBay, and I will continue to shop on eBay but not for things such as Microwave Ovens.
