Dragon Ball: Raging Blast is a 3D fighting game for high-def generation consoles, featuring more than 40 heroes, villains, and supporting characters from the Dragon Ball Z franchise. The roster swells above 70 playable characters when including the Super Saiyan variations and form transformations available for many key personalities such as Goku, Gohan, Frieza, Vegeta, Cell, and Broly. Alternate costumes are available for many of the characters as well. In the tradition of the previous console generation's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series, the focus of play in Raging Blast is fast-paced, supernaturally powered martial arts combat, on solid ground and high in the skies above, as featured throughout the influential anime series. Battles are fought in large, interactive and destructible arenas, taken from key moments throughout the manga and anime. Characters display real-time damage, such as scrapes, bruises, and torn clothing from a tough fight. Single-player modes include the "Dragon Battle Collection" main story campaign, which runs from the Saiyan Saga up to the Kid Buu Saga, and "Super Battle Trial," which allows players to duke it out and test new tactics with their favorite fighters in quick pick-up matches. Players can customize the Super Attack moves of their favorite characters, using points earned by playing through the campaign. Online, players have access to multiplayer modes including team tournaments, spectator-ranked matches, and straight up "Versus" battles.

Great game for fans who loved the Budokai Tenkaichi series!
This game is truly my favorite Dragon Ball game ever! I really loved the Tenkaichi style gameplay. With Dragon Ball FighterZ recently released and looking very strong. I would have to say that game may dethrone Raging Blast from my favorite game of all time. It's still early to decide but the reason why I loved this game and Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 SO MUCH, was because they gave us a fighting format of opportunity. It wasn't as limited as Budokai 3. Once the Tenkaichi series was introduced, it opened up so many different combos and play styles which fit the Dragon Ball gimmick! The sound track in Dragon Ball Raging Blast is also quite amazing. If you are a true Dragon Ball fan, this is a MUST have!This game is truly my favorite Dragon Ball game ever! I really loved the Tenkaichi style gameplay. With Dragon Ball FighterZ recently released and looking very strong. i must admit, i'm a sucker for these types of games, and though the series/manga had a lot of dumb plots throughout the series, it was always the copy and paste fight scenes that had me coming back for more as a young kid in the early-mid 90's. and after buying every dragonball z game that game out in the new millennium (well, every major budokai release.) it was no question that i would purchase this title. basically, DB raging blast is an HD version of the budokai tenkaichi (sparking!) series. it features only the dragonball z portion of the series mythos (excluding dragon ball, and GT). controls are similar to the tenkaichi series of games, but at the same time, simplified for newcomers to these types of games. all of your special.super attacks are mapped to the right stick, and ... i must admit, i'm a sucker for these types of games, and though the series/manga had a lot of dumb plots throughout the series, it was always the copy and paste fight scenes that had me coming back for more as a young kid in the early-mid 90's. and after buying every dragonball z game that game out in the new millennium (well, every major budokai release.) it was no question that i would purchase this title. basically, DB raging blast is an HD version of the budokai tenkaichi (sparking!) series. it features only the dragonball z portion of the series mythos (excluding dragon ball, and GT). controls are similar to the tenkaichi series of games, but at the same time, simplified for newcomers to these types of games. all of your special.super attacks are mapped to the right stick, and almost every button you use has more than one function, depending on the pressure you apply to your button presses. the game is a single player's delight, featuring a TON of modes to mess around with. the main attraction to this game is the game's main single player mode called battle collection in which you play through all of the major fights in the series, through all of the three main sagas. it's quite lengthy, and you will need to go back to older scenarios to gain stars in order to unlock new chapters in each saga. enemy AI is unforgiving at times, but luckily, this game features an extensive training mode which will really beef up a player's ability to slaughter this game. one thing to note is that there is a "what if" section in the battle collection mode, and it contains a lot of really great "what if" battles that we as fans constantly bring about in our heads. so to break it down: likes: - presentation - controls are simplified a bit - extensive dojo mode really helps newcomers - the "what if" portion of the single player mode (be prepared for some surprises as well.) - tons of single player modes - online code is pitch perfect (though prepared to get wiped out by experienced players or if the other way around, prepare for D/Cs) - the ability to switch from japanese to english voice acting. - and if you don't like the soundtrack, and prefer that classic DBZ soundtrack, download it, put it on your ipod or zune, and use that instead. dislikes: - no lock-on targeting, (stupid design flaw) the camera makes it difficult to track your opponent down, and it also makes battles in tight spots quite frustrating. - some techniques require strict timing regulations in order to pull them off perfectly. - enemy AI is a pain if you have no idea how to play. - lack of DB/GT arcs and characters are kind of a bummer... - online players range from incredibly skilled to incredibly cheap. some players disconnect if the battle isn't going their way. and honestly, what REALLY kills the online play, is the ability to customize your characters abilities, making it even more unbalanced than it already is, losing the game's competitive edge. it's not fair if you plan to play this game competitively. other than that, it's a good (DBZ) game, spike did more right than they did wrong, and hopefully these issues are fixed in new iterations of the series. if you're a DBZ fan, you have no excuse NOT to buy it, if you're new to the series, you might want to rent it first. and if you're not into this kinda stuff at all, then skip it. as a fan of the series i give this game an 8. as a video gamer, i give it a 7.

Best DBZ game
I've been going through and collecting the dragonball games and been playing through them. So far, this one had the best varieties of fights and had just the right roster. If you wanna spend a lot of time playing a dbz game, this one has hours and hours of gameplay waiting to be played!
