Disappointing, I'm using my old el cheapo mp3 again.
THe sony walkman for me is a 3 out of 5 star product. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the shipment or product itself. But the design really sucks. The buttons are very sensitive. I work outside, and use my mp3 to pass the time faster. The buttons get pressed in my pocket just from regular movement and then i have to take it out to get it back to my music menu. it is highly annoying. Also, when I put it on hold after powering off, it appears that once i press any button the device cuts back on but in a sleep mode. It doesn't let me press any buttons or anything, it just uses slightly more battery than when powered off. Like I said, the buttons are the biggest issue for me. I do like the radio function, the radio is very clear. I don't like that I am forced to install the software ... THe sony walkman for me is a 3 out of 5 star product. Nice unit. Works perfect for a car that has only a cass. player. Just purchase an inexpensive car cassette converter ($10-$20) there are tons of them on ebay. Downloads are fast and easy to do. A nice feature this unit has that most others don't is that you can download not only mp3s but also wav files which are superior in quality to mp3s. Here's a little tip. When downloading songs enter 01-02-03 and so on in front of the title or they will download alphabetically by default and not in the order you intended.Nice unit. Better than newer models
I've owned several over the years. Has more useful options, such as playback speed, than the newer Walkmans. Too bad this model is discontinued.

The instructions that came with the player, while good for comp savvy people, is way over my head. Have to get my daughter or son-in-law to show me how to upload the music.
