Having 30 years of experience collecting and building with LEGOs, I can say with confidence that this is one of the better Star Wars sets LEGO has released in the last few years, given the overall lack of playability their early releases embodied, with parts easily knocked off, Battle Droids not staying up straight, and many other flaws to the design approach anyone familiar with the 1999-2003 sets can attest to having experienced first-hand. Along with the shift from the flatter original shade of dark grey to the far superior dark blue-grey we are all familiar with now, LEGO pushed for a shift in design, and the result was sturdier models with less 'shedding' (what I call it when a piece or section of a set model falls off too easily), bolder color shades and contrast, more playability, and in general a far more useful array of new elements to work with. Despite the price increase this demanded from the toymakers, they have been able to improve the quality and usefulness (as well as the asthetic aspects) of their product, and set 75024 is no exception. With bold color schemes, effective design function and some of the coolest minifigs I've had the pleasure of adding to my collection, Cad's Starhopper (a ship from the Yoda Chronicles subline of sets LEGO released starting in 2013 to accompany the webshow and TV cartoon series, although don't quote me on which is the chicken and which is the egg. I never watched the show.) is one of my personal favorites, if for nothing else than the colors alone. The olive green and dark tan contrast well with the dark blue-grey, and the neon green highlights only serve to accentuate and define the overall color scheme. But I recommend picking one up simply for the minifigures included, if you are a collector. Cad's hat alone is worth the money, but he is accompanied, two other characters that both have a strong appeal. The first, a Nikto guard accompanying Cad Bane as he hunts down bounties, has great facial details, with a nice unique and rare color to his skin and a dark pearl grey longaxe/halberd weapon accessory that I found very pleasing. Personally, I would like to see an entire dark pearl grey set released, the color is so alluring it is easily one of my favorite tones LEGO has ever released, and it's rarity only lends to the collectibility of the set, in my opinion. The third minifigure is none other than Obi-Wan himself in what is described as his "Rako Hardeen bounty hunter disguise," a nice blend of the olive green and the dark grey, reiterating the ship's color scheme, and some interesting facial scarring, perhaps intended to be understood as make-up, or a part of his 'disguise', a nice little beanie cap a la City sets, and a hefty black sniper blaster. Obi-Wan employing a firearm! That alone makes this figure noteworthy to those who are familiar with Obi's firm opinion of blasters as 'uncivilized', and I was duly impressed by the facial graphics, etc. All three are excellent minifigures to add to a collection. The only thing left to mention, and in my personal building regime THE reason to consider (or not consider) a LEGO Star Wars set for purchase: the cockpit windhield. I am an avid fan of the dark transluscent grey they have been consistently using for most of the windsheilds in Star Wars sets, as well as many other themes. The recent firetruck they put out was a must-buy for me just because of the two grey transluscent winshield elements.) I acquired two of these Starhoppers immediately just based on the single windsheild element, and am very glad for it. I was able to find it on sale for around 40 bucks last Fall/Winter, and found it to be one of the sets I believe was worth every penny. I build a lot with the dark blue-grey, so that plays a large factor in which sets I eyeball or settle on for purchase, but windshield shape and color is important to me as well, and this set delivers on both counts, as well as having a particularily appealing trio of minifigures. I highly recommend this set for play or collection, and hope you found my review useful!Read full review

My nephews are obsessed with the Star Wars movies and are always on the lookout for toys related to the films. Match this with their affinity for building with Lego products and it's a win-win situation. I can't remember the occasion, but they were very pleased with this toy.
