It's the first game in the Elder Scrolls series that got it right. Tod & company really got the feel for their world right in this game that would echo across their later games. A must have for any Elder Scrolls fan. While later games like Oblivion & Skyrim saw more streamlined gameplay & better graphics, did not have the immersion that was set in Morrowind.

It won't play.. I tried EVERYTHING... Except installing Windows XP, or Windows VISTA on my laptop... I can't play the game.. I emailed Bethesda many times.. The last solution they proposed was extreme... I'm not a computer programmer analyst

The graphics are absolutely awe-inspiringly gorgeous. I have not seen this realism in a video game since... ever. The only problem is that the graphics require a near-supercomputer. Mine is kind of super, and the graphics look fine. As close to perfection as I have ever seen. Swords cling and clash. Magic blasts roar with power. Daggers swiftly slice through the air. Water sounds like water. Perfection. Absolute realistic perfection. The voice acting in this game is excellent. Sadly, the voice acting is limited to two sets per species: a male set and a female set. You hear everything, from the male Wood Elves speaking of your freeness when you prance around in your underwear to High Elves speaking of teleportation. The music is great. From the first time you boot up the game and hear the roar of drums, to when you're adventuring across the Morrowind countryside and hear beautiful, beautiful music, the game's music is spectacular. You are a prisoner in the Imperial City's prison. You have just been released and are being taken to Seyda Neen for an unknown purpose. You create a character, are pointed in the direction of the main quest, and cut loose. From there, it's your story. You can choose to involve yourself with the Temple, a House, and a Guild. If you continue the main story, you can also be a member of a heroic organization known as the Blades. When you first start off, you'll get to make a character. This character can be anything from humans (Imperials, Bretons, Nords, and Redguards) to elves (Wood Elves, Dark Elves, and High Elves) to beasts (Argonians and Khajits). This allows for rich enough gameplay, but you can also pick classes, such as Crusaders or Witchhunters. Not only that, but you can create your own classes with different skills to excel at, such as Alchemy, Destruction, Long Blade, Heavy Armor, Short Blade, Acrobatics, and more. This is one of the few PC games with great keyboard-and-mouse gameplay. The game's controls are perfect for combat. Very fun. There are a wide range of weapons and items ranging from longswords to books and scrolls. There are many different varieties of enemies as well. Morrowind provides a huge landmass to explore, full of items, characters, and enemies. The game includes an easy-to use construction set, as well, which infinitely expands Morrowind's world. This is the game's only weakness. Interaction with other characters is limited to choosing items on a menu. It is okay, though, and still immersive. Final Verdict: BUY THIS GAME.Read full review
This game is simply amazing. My computer is not the latest model, and is not up to running Oblivion, the next game in the series, so I decided to try Morrowind. I was not disappointed. EVERYTHING is interactive, there are nearly unlimited things to do, kill, steal, cast, etc. Build your character, train in whatever areas you wish to specialize in, and save the world from the evil Dagoth Ur. I've had the game for over two months now, and am STILL finding more things to do on it. Not satisfied with saving the world, I had to become Master of the Fighters' Guild, Archmage of the Mages' guild, and am working my way through the missions of the sneaky Thieves' Guild. However, the game is not perfect. It can be a bit glitchy at times. The water animation, for example, is notably off. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it has a strobe effect going. It is not impossible to fall through floor, or get your head stuck in a lamppost and be unable to move. Most irritating of all, some of the non-player characters tend to drift to their left during the course of the game, making some of them very difficult to find, and some even drift to unintentionally block your access to doorways and other plot-crucial things. Not all glitches are bad, though. There are reputedly glitches in this game that work for your benefit. I found one, but you have to find it for yourself. But that said, Morrowind is definitely worth the buy. If you have a really fast computer, buy ES IV: Oblivion, but if not, Morrowind is the best game for you.Read full review
The box was crushed, but that could be because of the post office. However the game disc did not work properly. It kept crashing. I had a disc before and it played perfectly on this computer (I subsequently lost that disc). I had to go onto Steam and buy the game.
