  • Much Better Than Could Possibly Be Expected

I purchased this CD because I briefly caught a small part of the music video for the song, "Colorful." I bought a used copy in case the other songs were not good, but it has turned out to be one of the greatest albums I have ever heard and I would gladly pay full after having experienced the CD. The lyrics are poetic and cool, the rhythms have a bluesie and artistic feel, and it is the type of CD that you can put in your car and thoroughly enjoy over and over again. So if you like guitar licks with a smooth undertone and intelligent lyrics, I would definitely recommend this album.

  • Deluca Rocks!!

A local dvd rental store just went out of business in my hometown. In the last days of business, dvds were selling for only $1 and I went in and scooped up as many as I could afford at the time. I didn't take the time to read the synopsis on the back cover, only grabbed ones where I recognized any of the actors on the front. One of the dvds I ended up buying and recently watching had Keifer Sutherland on the front and was called I Trust You To Kill Me. Little did I know that this wasn't a studio-type fictional movie, but instead a documentary of the launch of the first CD for Rocco Deluca and the Burden. I was totally surprised at how awesome this band was and that the CD had been out for almost 4 years and I had not ever heard of them before. The very next day after ...

  • Rocco DeLuca brings an amazing new sound

I saw "I Trust You to Kill Me" in a video store and was intrigued by Keifer Sutherland's foray into music. What I found in the movie was this amazing sound, passion and the heart of champion in Rocco DeLuca. It's reminds me of an early Dave Matthews style, before his songs became commercialized, mixed with a tinge Ben Harper's funk and a unique style with the dobro that makes his sound intoxicating. While the movie showed an interesting style of on the road band promotion, the album is concise and energetic. My only criticism is that the songs are studio cut and shorter in duration, I would still love the chance to see him play live to see how his energy transfers to the stage. Impressive debut!

  • Best new music I've heard in years!

Rocco is a wonderful mix of flat out rock-n-roll touched with the dobro blues. He can sing it hard. He can sing it soft. The only thing I don't like about the CD is that there isn't already a 2nd CD. I have both the pre-release version sold directly out of Ironworks studio and the released version sold on the shelves. I originally bought it because I love Jude Cole's music and felt any musician his studio (Ironworks co-owned with Kiefer Sutherland) was willing to back had to be awesome. I was right.

  • Rockin' Awesome

I saw Rocco DeLuca when they were opening for Keane. The music is great, I listen to it all the time. There are a few slow songs, but mostly harder indie rock. The single "Swing Low" is great, they play it on a local alternative radio station all the time. The c.d. is best turned up really loud.
