I'm a nut about so-called 'platformer' games, such as Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, and so on. This game takes it to a whole new level-- you play as a sarcastic alien with a Jack Nicholsen-esque voice, whose goal is to literally pull the brain-stems out of human beings to retrieve hidden alien DNA. You can control minds, clone or "holo-bob" humans to walk among them, and use some funny weapons such as the Anal Probe (yes!). The towns and fields are massive and realistic, with mid-Fifties American style; it is set up like an old sci-fi flick of that era, and the citizens think (or are told) it is a "commie" invasion! Comparing this game to others is difficult, because it's style is so unique. However, in totallity of game play, it lags well behind the leading platformer, Ratchet & Clank. Weapons are too few, the motivation for missions is vague, and it is too short. Human subjects re-spawn without even leaving the area, so you can never completely do what the title suggests. Hidden items give DNA only - unlike the secret bolts in R & C, which allow you to buy upgrades. But by far the worse problem with the game, in my opinion, is the difficult control scheme; you have to use both thumbsticks to move, and let go of one or the other to use abilities; an auto-aim feature would be great. It takes a long time getting used to. In spite of its faults, however, it still remains fun-- who doesn't like blowing #!@# up? This is one of those games I actually waited to purchase on eBay, because I'd rented it shortly after its release in 2005 and enjoyed it-- just not enough to shell out $50 to add it to my collection. I'd normally recommend you try this intentionally-campy game before buying, but since you can find both used and new copies at such low prices from eBay sellers, you could probably ad this to your "owned" list for the equivalent of a three-day rental. I feel like a kid at the game store for the first time that just picked the copy up, for the first time & purchased. I own Destroy All Humans 2 for the PS2. So I’m no amateur to the series. However it is my first time owning the Destroy All Humans 1. I’m making my way onto the 3rd game for the PS3. Which is Destroy All Humans Path Of The Furon. This game bring nostalgia, it’s pretty fun causing chaos. Also having the old classic games from the PS2 that I played in early childhood.

My son (age 15, and very mature for his age) had gotten "Destroy All Humans!" and asked for the sequel, having enjoyed the first one immensely. We found one on eBay, bought it, and received it quickly. He has had a great deal of fun with DAH 2. He especially likes having Crypto listen to the thoughts of the humans he encounters. Our entire family has laughed at various parts of the game -- the "free love dance," the guru Shama Lama, Crypto and his (ahem) "package", etc. The game is easy to play; he's never had to use any of the help features. It has mild profanity, but nothing worse than what the average fifth-grader hears on a daily basis. The sexual innuendo is strong, but hilarious. My son says he can't think of anything negative about the game and would highly recommend it to kids 14 and up. (He doesn't think that kids under 14 would understand a lot of the humor in the sexual innuendo, but that is obviously a parent's call.) This is a Excellent game from the beginning credits. I bought the game cause I like the old 50's B-movies and MST3000. The game is great for any age. Pandemic who made the game, must of seen every old sci-fi flick and took that info and made a very funny and challenging game. Playing the main character, "Crypto" and flying in your spaceship to fictious places in the USA from a country farm setting to learn the skills needed and brain stems (to gain upgrades for yourself or your ship) To Capitol City aka Washington DC, which was a very challening level. But what was so cool was the fact you could return to past levels of towns and not lose the story line. All the towns and cities work together. The extra features for finishing the levels keep updating as well as you progress (No spoilers here, sorry). I was hooked this game for a month. I sat down pretty much every night after work and played a couple hours. Weekends, forget it, I'll see my family later on in the day. Bathroom breaks & eating lunch & supper is about all you'll do that day. Email and DOOM 3 where put on hold cause of the game being VERY addictive. Some of the the dialouge that the people say will go over some of the youngun's head but that's only when you have to read peoples minds (about actors of the day or Elvis, I'm 43). Violence and gore remain low. Using you mind power to remove the pathetic humans brains (they go pop & bounce across the ground) there's no blood just green ooze. You use a zap ray to a disenigrator gun took take care of any army or law officials who get in your way. So save your allowance or bug mom or dad for the money. this game is fun and layed back game. I will say I played the second version first before this one and I like the second destroy all humans better all the little things that annoy me in the first game are fixed. There are lots of side missions to play as well as the main missions. It dose take a little getting used to the controls but once you get used to them the game is really fun especilly if you had a bad day destory a few extra humans and go on a rampage!
This games is awesome.You get to do almost whatever you want and can destroy everything, except trees. What you can do is, destroy towns, destroy cities, destroy buildings, destroy houses, destroy farms, destroy cows, destroy rocks, and of course destroy humans.You play as Cryptospordium 137, who is sent to find and retreive Cryptospordium 136 who waas captured by the two legged monkeypeople. Pretty much you just do really cool things that concern big and funny words.And it`s not hard core like so many other games like predator.
