This is a very sturdy metal framed reel. The reel itself is heavy plastic, and helps hold down the weight. It has many advantages over the Tecnec Jack reel. Not the least of which is a hole in the reel flange that allows the cable to be easily and simply installed and completely removed form the reel without having to pass the cable through the reel hub greatly and unnecessarily complicating things.You can get close to twenty feet of 1/4" cable on the hub extender and another 250 feet of 1/4" on the main reel. You could probably get 300 feet of DMX 1CH cable on it, no problem. Until someone comes up with an entirely metal reel at a similar price point, this is the reel of choice.This is a very sturdy metal framed reel.
