Gutta Percha Folding Knife is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or flaws. Only normal wear from being well over 100 years old. These were manufactured only from 1902-1911. There is a very slight wobble I noticed in the safety while the blade is extended but other than that it's great. The inscription and hunting scene on the handles make this knife gorgeous to display in someone's collection. There is a unique inscription on the finger guard as seen in one of our photos. I can make out the letters and words ED BY ....AX & SONS ........MINN. Interesting inscription that leads us to believe this was a Special Order for possibly another company in Minnesota. That's our guess. Hope the new owner can find out the history of this wonderful knife.”
