Bandai Namco's series about gamers living in an MMORPG continues with new locations, customizable characters, and aerial battles in Sword Art Online: Lost Song. The action is once again set in the virtual world of Alfheim Online, and more specifically the floating islands of Svart Alfheim. Gamers can choose to play as Kirito and more than a dozen other characters from the series, or they can create a custom avatar. Lost Song features a more action-heavy approach than previous SAO titles, with three-member parties unleashing physical and magical attacks on the ground or in the air.<br><br>Gamers can walk or fly through various environments in Svart Alfheim, though dungeon exploration is done solely on foot. Players can use a variety of weapons and spells to attack foes and join forces with squad mates to produce powerful combo attacks, while the aerial combat gives them 360 degrees of motion to target an opponent's weaknesses. Lost Song supports online co-op play as well as a variety of PvP modes, and gamers can share save data between PS4s and Vitas.

    Great for SAO fans

    This game isn’t designed as a massive epic game like Elder Scrolls/Witcher/Mass Effect etc. It feels more like actually going through episodes of the SAO series. Gameplay is smooth and fun, and clearly designed as close as possible to the game design in the series. It’s still a big world, where you can spend lots of time grinding, or trying to push through the story quickly. There are lots of brief interactions between characters, showing their personalities. This works well for me, since I like gaming, but am not a hardcore gamer. I am a big SAO fan, though. This game is great for me. Overall, as a stand-alone game, it’s above average. As an expansion of the SAO franchise, it’s fantastic.

    If you aren’t a fan and don't have a waifu...

    Graphics are Meh, I feel like .hack and KH2 looked better and those game series were on the PS2. If you like the show, you'll like it. If you like having a band of waifus compliment you while you hack and slash enemies, you'll like it.

    Pleasently surprised - as good as it gets!

    I had a look at this game else where and this was the cheapest I could find - including pre-owned! I was happly surprised when it arrived, the game was still in the plastic wrapper, it was brand new! If you are looking to buy the game then I would say that here is as good as it gets. It did take a little while to come but that is upfront. Again the game is very cheap here so else where you might get it quicker but you are paying for more than that premium.
