Good product, just be ready to deal with the disc drawer getting stuck with a disc inside. If this happens, search the web, there are solutions....

The DVD/VHS player and recorder is designed to copy and create DVD videos on blank discs. The unit was described as "works"on the website but the recording function is inoperative. The display screen on the front of the unit is only half, and dimly lit so that options for recording cannot be seen. Inserting a blank DVD-R into the unit results in a loud buzzing noise and it won't record. I consider the term "works" to be untrue and misleading since the unit is made primarily for recording although it will play either a DVD or VHS tape.

There is no remote control to this equipment. I have not been able to use it at all. There are no instructions or any solutions that I have found on how to use this equipment without a remote. Please send me the remote. Please send me the directions / instructions for this equipment. I did my part by paying for it, but I can't use it. Years ago, I thought the Panasonic product was good, but I can't speak on it because I can't use it. The facts are there is no way to control the DVD / VCR recorder without a remote.

A welcome addition to my audio & video editing and viewing capabilities. It makes viewing my old VHS and DVD's possible, I purchased a compatible remote to make full use of the recorder. A must have addition.

I needed this device as a replacement for my old one that has finally worn-out, This is an excellent product for converting old tapes to newer DVD media. If you have family memories on VHS Tape This Is Basically the Only Remedy to Move Them onto DVD Where You Can Keep Them in Good-Quality Archive without spending lots of money.
This is the best of both worlds (VCR and DVD) Have had one since 2003 and it got to where the dvd wouldn't eject easily. I wanted another one so got this one from ebay. This type of machine isn't made anymore by Panasonic. :( Cple made by different mfg but the reviews are terrible. The dvd recording can be finalized so can be played on other dvd machines. Love, love, love it!!
I have a product just like this that I wore out and had to have the laser replaced. Great product. Just wish Panasonic quit making it.

DVD recording side is not recording correctly and misses duration settings, major resets of unit required to get any response.
