About this product

Product Information

Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku is an action-adventure title based upon the Dragon Ball Z anime. The storyline remains faithful to the cartoon series and begins shortly after Goku's son, Gohan, is kidnapped by a man named Raditz, who claims to be Goku's brother. Ever the doting father, Goku, sets off to rescue his son, a quest that will ultimately decide the fate of the universe. Accompanied by his best friend Piccolo, Goku will journey throughout the Dragon Ball Z world, from Earth to the Home for Infinite Losers and everywhere in between.

The smattering of RPG elements manifest themselves further into the quest as Goku meets and converses with more than 75 characters. Often, they'll request his help and by completing tasks and defeating enemies, Goku will earn experience points. These eventually translate into additional combat abilities, allowing Goku to harness a handful of melee and Ki powers, in addition to enabling him to move faster. When in battle, Goku is able to punch the enemy or unleash one of three different Ki attacks, the more powerful of which, in true RPG fashion, are only earned deep into the quest. Ki Blast, Solar Flare, and the powerful Kamehameha! can all be utilized in the game's real-time battles.

Inventory and Quest menus enable players to keep track of their current assignment as well as the items currently on hand. Senzu beans for example, can be collected and used to rejuvenate Goku's health when the need arises. Two bars in the upper-left portion of the screen represent his health and Ki. As in the cartoon, Goku is able to take flight, however, the length of time he can stay airborne is limited and players will need to collect red, green, or brown orbs in order to replenish his Flight Meter and once again enable his flight ability. Each task Goku completes brings him one step closer to rescuing his son...and saving the world. Battery backup allows players to save at will.

The figure came in nicely packaged and the figure was in very good condition, given the Used item condition. Certainly, the figure received very much matched the description and picture shown in listing. Otherwise, the the delivery was timely and the payment process went off without any hitches. Overall, a wonderful buying experience, and I'd recommend this seller for other gaming-esque needs.

    Cheap game with confusing gameplay

Game is undamaged. Graphics are good. Gameplay is very confusing (as are most early Gameboy titles). Hopefully the game gets better. Definitely worth the price.

  • Legacy of Goku I & II

I personally love dragonball z and Goku is probably my favorite character within the show (which he is for many people i assume) so I wanted to try out this game and was sure that it would be great!, however, the first legacy of goku was VERY poorly constructed. There was no initiative for me to keep playing the game when the fighting system was a little more boring than the conversations that the characters got involved in. However, the second game was phenomenal! A dramatic improvement in gameplay and an amazing improvement in the telling of the story, this game is miles ahead of it's predecessor. Great games! one better than the other but a very happy purchase!

  • Best & Worst of Both Games

I rented Legacy of Goku about 3 to 4yrs ago, and same with Legacy of Goku II (during the Dragonball Z popular times). Legacy of Goku I takes place from the beginning of Dragonball Z where you start at Master Roshis house, and then fight Raditz. It follows the Anime, and goes up to the end of the Freiza Saga. The game is extremely short, and can be beaten in one sitting. The game in my opinion was very difficult. From the beginning of the game once you had to fight monsters I kept on dying at wolves. Asfar as the graphics go though I can't complain for a 2002 GBA game they were very well done. But the game mechinaics for this game just lack in the way of mobility, and attacks. Overall I would have to say this is a game that isn't worth playing unless you are curious. If you are a huge ...

  • Great game

It’s been years since I’ve played this game. It’s a lot harder then I remember. But absolutely love it.
