I am very pleased with the JBL 5.1 Surround. The soundbar has slightly bass heavy but very full sound. Bass can be turned down (or up) to suit the room and content. I have it in a large room and there is no problem getting way too loud. Setup was straight-forward although I did need to consult the full on-line manual in order to do the automatic room calibration. The 5.1 effects actually do work. In movie content I often notice sound coming from far off to the left or right of the bar - kind of surprising actually. The subwoofer and soundbar communicate with each other on 2.4 Ghz WiFi channel 11. This can't be changed but this is really just an observation - certainly did not cause any issues for me. The JBL would be a good deal at its normally available pricing and mine was a demo at an unbeatable price. I couldn't be happier.Read full review

Incredible sound out of a soundbar. Having the adjustable bass control on remote is awesome. Plenty of power for any sized room. Plus automatically switches to your bluetooth device when you connect to it, sometimes doesn't want to, Then back to tv automatically. Cool idea. You will enjoy this soundbar, the problem i see is that if you already had a surround sound, this bar needs to expand the sound,to compare to the old school surround sound, this was a 2019 model.

Great sound for the price. You only get 3 setting for the sub-woofer, and I have my on the minimum and it still thumps at higher volume levels. At lower volume, say half way, you can go up to medium and get superb sound. I hear some people saying that when they are playing music they EQ it off of spotify or some of the other players. I think to get the most of the set that's what you have to do. Well made components. You can tell cheaper sets, this one has some real engineering in it and a solid feel to the parts. 4 starts because it would be nice to EQ the set.

I bought this product to play music in my backyard. I much rather have an independent subwoofer and speaker than a "party speaker". I was looking more for sound quality than loud volume. Pros: You do not need a receiver, you can just use Bluetooth. Setup is a breeze. No need to run any wires just plug to the outlet and you are all set. It is probably best to put a mesh on the subwoofer port to avoid critters going in. My patio is covered so this is not exposed to rain and other nature elements. Cons: It is not as loud and clear as patio speakers would be. But for a patio setup you would need to run speaker wires and also have a receiver which probably may be more sensitive to humidity and the nature elements. Also, you would need a powered subwoofer if you are looking for sound quality and you would need to run RCA cables from the receiver to the sub. Read full review
