  • Tamron AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph. for Nikon

For anyone wanting to start using a Digital SLRs this lens coupled to a D70 in which I just recently purchased on Ebay turned out to be a great combination. The Tamron lens was a lot better than I expected. I tried out the newer SLR's and and did not like the way the bodies were constructed very light and not very durable and very expensive even on sale. The lens which came with the new cameras were also extremly expensive and I felt was not getting enough bang for the buck. The quality of the Tamron lens was perfect more durable and light as the newer lenses at half the cost. You could go for a newer lense with more updated features, but you will pay more. If you are a pro on a budget or a beginner wanting to learn digital photography, then this Tamron lens is a great lens on a D70. I ...

  • This is a Great alternitave to Nikon's Lenses.

First, the Lens is high quality. I was introduced to the Tamron brand at a local Camera store. The Lens works well with the Auto Focus feature on My Nikon D100 without the higher cost of the Nikkor Lens. Since I was on a bit of a budget the value of this product was a huge selling point. Also, there are lots of accessory's available for the lens (hoods, filters, etc.) The only downside was the hard plastic hood that it came with made the lens cap hard to remove. I upgraded to a 58mm rubber hood for $4.95 at my local camera store. Big improvement.

  • Tamron-Another Alternative To Consider

The Tamron lenses are crisp and a good alternative for other optics. This lens is a satisfactory lens as a prime lens and short zoom for most work that doesn't require a longer zoom. The lens has a very good weight factor to it that makes it comfortable to carry, but the controls are stiff in operation making it a bit of a task to use until you get used to it. The biggest consideration in purchasing this lens is the cost factor because it is substantially less costly than the Nikon branded lens. If you don't have a lens in this focal range the Tamron is a good value and should be considered.

  • Best general purpose lens for its price and performance

Its light weight and superb optical quality made this my favorite lens to carry around. Even the aperture is relatively slow but at ISO 1600 or 3200, I can still shoot at a comfortable shutter speed and get very nice pictures with adequate depth of field. The auto focus works very fast too. Just an amazing lens at around $65 is worth every penny of it. Highly recommended for pros and amateurs alike.

  • Lenses for my Canon digital camera

I have often worried about buying lenses made by a company other than Canon. I always worried about the fit and functionality of non-Canon lenses. These however turned out to be perfect. The lenses will let me focus on the wings of a gnat! Fantastic for taking those photos that the factory lens just isn't enough for.
