Did you think that there was no battery in the watch because it wouldn't run? There should be a hard plastic protective piece under the pullout that you set the time with. It is put there by the factory, as protection for the battery, so it won't run the watch until you remove that plastic piece. Once removed, that time adjustment will be able to go all of the way in, which will allow the watch to run. Let us know if that fixed it
