This is my 3rd book case and all 3 times there was no problem with missing parts or major damage. These are lawyer book case are made from bamboo and have plastic see through doors. I use them for display cases for my train collection. Keeps them dust free. There is a learning curve to putting them together, but look at the picture directions carefully. The pieces fit well and are very strong when all the parts are properly tightened.

There was a scratch on what is a back panel so, no big deal. One shelf had some small globs on it but I made that the bottom shelf and covered it. There are also extra holes on the sides of the cabinets that were a mistake I think. But overall I actually really like this cabinet and it holds all my collectibles! I like the doors that come down to protect my stuff.
