Director and grandson of Nana, Alex Halpern meets with his grandmother on her 95th year to discuss her life, and the astonishing results are presented in NINE GOOD TEETH. Having been told by a gypsy that she would pass away aged 96, the year has a special significance for Nana, although she subsequently went on to live well past the 100-year mark. Her stories and recollections unfold on camera via Nana's captivating mannerisms and sense of childlike wonder, with a host of funny, sad, and fascinating anecdotes providing the bulk of the material. Her life has seen incredible political and personal turmoil, and Halpern captures it beautifully in this touching film.
