Mine fails to read 60Hz at 120VAC - Otherwise works well
My fluke meter reads 60Hz at 120VAC, but my Crenova MS8233D won't read Hz on the same source and actually locks up when I try. I have seen a few other online reviews that also mention issues with the Hz feature. I contacted Crenova. They asked for more info which I sent around 3 days ago, but I haven't heard back. I also noticed that the front of the meter boasts a CAT III rating, but in specifications on page 4 of the manual that came with it, it reads only CAT II. Which is it?? Aside from the Hz function and the fact that I have to question the CAT rating, the meter actually works pretty well. It feels durable, has a back light, includes probe and alligator clip leads, and comes with a pretty nice case. This should be useful as a secondary meter for the road, under the hood of the car, ... Crenova-MS8233D Multimeter. If your going to need a cheap Multimeter, or like in my case a second unit then this is perfect, The unit is very good at what it does. I got this one for my boat and left it in the engine room for most of the boats electrical needs. I don't mind so much if the sea air wrecks it or dropping it from heights or into the ocean becasue of it's cost.
