Program does what it was intended to do. Much cheaper than Turbotax
The business program is hard to use as the subject is complex. Once you learn to navigate, it is not so bad. The business portion requires knowledge and knowing what is needed. The pemium individual version is very easy to use and it includes one free state and free efile. I was lucky that I got it at the bargain price of less than $30 for both programs. Cheaper than the Turbotax Deluxe. I think the Turbotax personal is easier to use, partly because I am nore used to their user interface,The business program is hard to use as the subject is complex. Software Issue
I have had the software for since March 1. Today is March 13. H & R Block has of yet to resolve an apparent programming issue (per phone conversations and an online chat). The issue is there is no option to download 1099's from financial institutions such as banks and brokerage companies. I do not want to spend extensive time entering the data manually. H & R Block says issue should be resolved within the next week. Major screw up by H & R Block. I hope this is not an issue with their other tax software. This is the 1st time I have tried H & R block software and will probably be the last. Never had trouble with TurboTax Software.I have had the software for since March 1. Today is March 13. Works but could be better
There are two separate programs on one disk. The personal is very easy to use, no problem. The business program does have a learning curve but once you figure it out it works fine. Compared to the personal program the business software is less guided in filling out the tax forms. Business program installs only under administrator profile (I'm using Windows 10), but if you find the file "HRB2017.exe" (typically c:/program files/h&R Block Business 2017/HRB2017.exe) right click it and send a shortcut to the desktop in a non-administrator login you can open the program from that shortcut/profile though you will be prompted for the administrator password to open the program.There are two separate programs on one disk. Better than doing it the old fashion way.
The original program was shipped fast with good packaging, The product key was valid without issue. The personal tax program works well; the business half needs a lot of tweaking. The data import function works fine. It does your 199-mis which really helps. The printer function needs improvement. Overall very helpful and worth the money but the business side is a little rough. .

I could not install the personal version, no matter what I tried. I was able to install the business version but it would not let me file a 1099 online. I had to print it out and mail it. That was a major inconvenience since I was traveling. I could have filled out a PDF just as easily and at no charge. Their chat support was excruciatingly slow and useless.
