    CAREFUL HTS541612J9SA00 series also known as 5H160

    When buying on ebay sellers and buyers you have to pay attention to all the numbers on the harddrive. Amazingly some of the same models like HTS541612J9SA00 have a slight differences. This can make a difference in the performance of i/o etc on your laptop or other applications. Ask to see a picture of the item being sold. Some of these hard drives have an internal glass platers. I guess that was a diversion from regular laptop hard drives. While this is interesting it makes for poor performace and higher then normal failure rates. This is only good for particular drive purposes.

    very good hard drive and non-expensive

    I bought this drive for my backup fikes(pictures, music amd files)One thing I like about this drive is the movility (I installed into a external encloser)and I can take with me wherever I go, also, I like the speed, and I trust in the brand name Hitachi very reliable drives.

    good drive for the money

    reasonable size for a dated laptop model. standard size was 20-40 GB, and this is three times the size. reasonable seek and write performance for a small form factor laptop drive with this capacity.

    Hitachi Travelstar 120 GB SATA Hard Drive

    Common hard drive for Advent laptops. Bought for my Advent 8212 as a replacement. Worked instantly no problems so far. Easy to install Windows on, pretty straightforward.
