  • Great way to configure older electronics with today's computers

Bought this cable to be able to communicate with a Panasonic KX-TVS50 Voicemail Processing System. The TVS50 utilizes a male DB9 serial port for allowing the administrator to configure, save and retrieve system settings. Today's computers do not have the 9 pin port any more. So unless you own a working computer from the 90's, it's difficult to "talk" to older electronics. This cable converts 9 pin to a USB port. No need for a 9 pin serial cable and null modem converter. It comes with drivers for all types of operating systems including Windows 10. Utilizing Microsoft's Hyperterminal software (which is still available on the internet), you can now configure older electronics with ease. Supports speeds up to a 38400 baud rate for faster communication. Great buy.

  • Connected easily and got the job done

Used this to do a firmware update from a Windows 7 HP Notebook to a Sony TA-E9000ES Preamp. Worked very well. Connected easily. I had to go sequentially and it stalled on my second update, but continued OK once re-tried.

  • Works with the Anritsu SM331A

I bought this to use on my Site Manager 331A and it works perfectly, defiantly recommend it if you don't have a RS232 port on you computer, which most of the new Notebooks don't have.
