Second one I've owned. Comparison is the new model is lighter and the power head is very strong in brush mode. Outstanding unit for the price. The front pivot wheel is the same, needs upgrading. Needs rubber bumper wrap so as not to damage the canister or furniture, walls, etc. Nonskid rear wheels would also help. Just some suggestions. Altogether a great vac for the price. I would NOT buy this puppy again.
I am very disappointed in this lightweight vacuum. Stiff hose, short cord, no stair holder, cord rewind badly positioned. The manual describes a storage technique that simply does not work. I bought it at a good price, but am replacing a far superior vacuum that just died of old age. I almost hope it dies quickly so I can replace it.

Works sufficiently. Kenmore tries to improve their products but not always user friendly. The cord rewind button is placed in a place that gets hit easily,thus your cord tries to rewind when you do not want it to. And the tools on the handle may be convenient to get to but often in the way. And for some reason it takes an extreme amount of strength to take the floor tool off, I’ve used this model before and this is not the case. But it works good enough.Works sufficiently. A great product for a good price
This is just the vacuum I needed. I recently moved into a 2 story house and wanted a vacuum upstairs as well as downstairs. I already had a Kenmore canister that is at least 15 years old and works great, so I bought another. I hope this one lasts as long!

Light weight with good suction.
The unit has good suction. It is light weight and easy to pick up and carrry when moving it from one room to another. HOWEVER, it rolls across the carpet with some resistance. I worry that eventually the unit will break at the point where the vacuum hose connects to the base of the canister.
