    My first Vari-ND filter

    Got the filter so I could shoot wide with off camera flash holding the shutter to 1/200. Works absolutely perfectly. Using ut is a dream. Set shutter and f-stop and then turn the filter as needed... Sort of like a de-clicked aperture ring. Color shift?...X-ghosting?... I don't know. Maybe so. I don't notice it when processing raws though.

    Good balance between price and performance

    The Tiffen ND filters are good compromise between price and performance. There are better ND filters on the market, but they can cost significantly more. I don't recommend cheap ND filters as they will degrade image quality. An alternate to a variable ND filter is to use single strength ND filters. These cost less, provide better optical quality (1 piece of glass instead of 2) and can be stacked if you need additional ND reduction.

    Best bang for buck

    As the title implies, this is the best variable ND for the money. Keep in mind that your lens cap and lens hood will not fit with this on the lens. that is the only downside as apposed to having a set of nd filters at different densities
